Barenbrug
Timothy |
|
This is a very palatable grass
and is well adapted to heavy soils. Timothy has huge
production in spring, but then is rather poor in summer
and fall. However, the Dutch bred varieties have a
little more even growth cycle, have a little more
of a spreading growth habit, and can tolerate frequent
cutting and grazing better than traditional American
varieties. They also make a leafier hay. |
| Barliza |
This popular European Timothy is early growing,
late maturing and persistent. Barliza has a
little more even growth cycle, have a little
more of a spreading growth habit, and can tolerate
frequent cutting and grazing better than traditional
varieties. Sow in fall or very early spring.
Plant shallow, no deeper than ???" in a
firm seedbed. It does well in pasture blends
of Perennial Ryegrass and White Clover. Its
palatability and digestibility are very similiar
to Ryegrass. Barliza is also noted for disease
resistance and Winter-hardiness. It is about
10 days later than Climax. Barliza makes very
leafy, high quality hay.
